Video Of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)

Indy 4 has all the sharp writing and set design of the previous installments, but a failure of scope makes the movie seem small, and diminishes the wonder.
Indiana Jones adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 – the height of the Cold War. Indy and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote airfield.

Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College – only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His good friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explains that Indy’s recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he’ll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history – the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.

But as Indy and Mutt set out for the most remote corners of Peru – a land of ancient tombs, forgotten explorers and a rumored city of gold – they quickly realize they are not alone in their search. The Soviet agents are also hot on the trail of the Crystal Skull. Chief among them is icy cold, devastatingly beautiful Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), whose elite military unit is scouring the globe for the eerie Crystal Skull, which they believe can help the Soviets dominate the world… if they can unlock its secrets.

Indy and Mutt must find a way to evade the ruthless Soviets, follow an impenetrable trail of mystery, grapple with enemies and friends of questionable motives, and, above all, stop the powerful Crystal Skull from falling into the deadliest of hands.

[urdvdmag] @joevictor53 Jar Jar’s dialogue, mannerisms, and accent were all extremely distracting and annoying to me. I think the Ewoks were put into Return of the Jedi for the children mostly, but I like the Ewoks much better than Jar Jar. They were kind of roly-poly and helpful in fighting the Stormtroopers.

[urdvdmag] @matthewjdenn Both Jar Jar and the Ewoks were put into the films for children. The gungans also helped defeat the droids. Jar Jar was a klutz as was Wicket. Sure Jar Jar was a bit over the top

[urdvdmag] @lastrange123 It’s from the Children of Dune miniseries soundtrack. The track is called “The Revolution” and is composed by Brian Tyler.

[urdvdmag] 7 minutes ago It is funny how people obsess with the fridge scene when they never complain about Indy out running a 200 ton rolling bolder, flying on an inflated raft, our out racing an airplane in a tunnel. They also never complain about ST-09’s Kirk jumping from a car going at 50 mph without getting scratched, stowing away & disobeying orders without getting into trouble, or going from a cadet to captain literally over night.

[urdvdmag] I think I’m actually one of the few people who hated this movie after seeing it in theatres, but then got around to watch it again on DVD and enjoyed it alot more. I’m telling ya, this films alot better when you lower your expectations. Still no Raiders though.

[urdvdmag] Spielberg and Lucas f****** the whole thing up. And I’ve not fully recovered from that new star wars crap tried to spoon feed us. They should just leave them as classics …now look what you got? The new stuff is all f****** crap! Harrison Ford left it far far too late, now he’s a geriatric.

[urdvdmag] one of the worst peice of shit movies ever made. One of the most insulting things george lucas ever spat at the fans of his shit. Equal to the atrocities called the star wars prequels. Shia Lebeouf is one of the lamest actors in holywood. He should only play nerds. His part was one of the factors that shit on this franchise. This movie just dumbs it up for an already dumb generation. FUCK THIS SHIT.

[urdvdmag] @screenjunky Don’t blame Spielberg. Lucas is the one who destroys his reputatuion in order to make a profit: Star Wars Holiday Special, Prequels, The Clone Wars. He will take down anyone with him on a project that he ruins even if that person had a better career than him after the first 3 Indy films
